Welcome and thank you for visiting 5th Tyldesley Scout Group website. We aim to provide the latest information about the Group and what we are doing. We will also tell you how you can take part in activities and read about our projects.
All the Leaders at 5th Tyldesley are volunteers and put in a lot of time and effort to run their respective sections. There is preparation for weekly meetings, activities to organise and attend at weekends and Group management meetings. Each Leader is CRB checked before joining and are subject to some form of training schedule. Some wish only to become Sectional Assistants but others wish to become Leaders/Assistant Leaders with their sections and enrol in the full training programme available to them. This eventually gains their Wood Badge.
At 5th Tyldesley we welcome both boys and girls into our sections from Beavers up to and including Scouts.
If you would like any further information on becoming a Helper or Leader or you have a child who is interested in joining 5th Tyldesley Scout Group then please do not hesitate to contact us using the button above.
Unfortunately, due to Coronavirus, we are currently unable to meet face to face for Scouting activities however, each section is still meeting via Zoom on a wekly basis.
There are lots of fun Scouting activities taking place virtually and the children are still earning their badges.
All the Leaders are very much looking forward to being able to meet up with the children again soon; they have lots of fun ideas for face to face Scouting. As soon as this is possible, parents will be notified directly by the Section Leaders, this notification will also include all the necesary information about how face to face Scouting will resume safely.
What's been happening this week?
Beavers are still keeping in contact with their Leaders through a weekly Zoom session. They have been doing lots of fun activities and earning lots of badges.
Cubs are meeting weekly via Zoom and are still earning their badges as well as having lots of fun.
Our Scouts are enjoying weekly virtual sessions via Zoom where they are taking part in different activities to work towards their badges.
